Wounds

Most Wounds should be washed immediately with hot soapy water.
If this is not done promptly - the wound may become infected.

Ledum is useful for injuries which cause swollen puffy purplish areas of tissue.
Animal bites or other puncture wounds that feel cold to the touch and look swollen and purple will benefit from this remedy.

It can also help swollen stiff joints especially if the overlying skin is purple and the joint itself feels cold.
If the pain is worse with heat and better with cold applications - then this remedy may help.

Hypericum is another remedy that can be used for puncture wounds where nerves have been damaged, such as animal bites, or if you have just stood on a nail or the garden fork - ouch!
This remedy is also said to help to prevent tetanus after this kind of injury.
