Indigestion
Pulsatilla is useful for indigestion. This remedy is good for
people with sensitive stomachs.
If your stomach is easily upset by fatty foods, and you feel queasy
after eating them, then this remedy could help.
Arg nit is also good for stomach problems where there is a lot
of belching and flatulence (wind) - especially if it happens after
eating sweet foods.
If you are allergic to sweet foods and suffer indigestion -
diarroea and flatulence after eating them - then this remedy will
benefit you.
A change of diet can also help.
Cutting down on the sugar intake can help to tackle the problem.
We all eat too much refined sugar nowadays. Try to cut out as much
refined sugar in your diet as possible.
Don't put sugar in your tea or coffee, or
put in as little as is bearable.
Eat more sugar free foods or substitute
sweets and chocolate for foods containing natural sugars such as fruit.
Nux vom is a useful remedy for indigestion -
especially if caused by the wrong diet or over indulgence,
If you have been drinking too much and generally partying too much,
then you may need this remedy.
If you feel sick but can't be sick - if you are constipated and feel
queasy after over-indulgence then this remedy may help.
Over-indulgence in rich foods, coffee and other stimulants can cause
various digestive problems.
The best thing to do after taking the remedy would be to change
your lifestyle. Drink less - eat less, and take the right kind of food
and drink. Eat less fat,
coffee, tea, alcohol (none would be better!), and eat more pulses,
wholegrains, fresh fruit and vegetables.
A diet of coffee and cigarettes is just asking for trouble. Its like
having a porsche and putting low grade fuel in it.
Eventually it will break down.
You must give your body the essential foods, vitamins and minerals
it needs to do its job properly.(see health tips)
Lycopodium is another a useful remedy for indigestion especially
if there is bloating and discomfort after eating and wind.
This may be a sign that you are allergic to something you are
eating.
You should try to pinpoint when the pain and bloating becomes worse.
Is it after eating sweets? or wheat? or dairy products? etc.
You can then eliminate the food you are allergic to for a short period
of time.
After you have given your body a rest - you can re-introduce the
food you are allergic to slowly and in small amounts. This can help the
body cope with the allergen.
Warning: If you want to go on an elimination
diet, you should consult your doctor and agree a programme.
